Abstract

Reviews the various methods of integrating services within the structural zone of the Slimdek system, so that the ceiling to floor depth is minimised. Slimdek construction consists of rolled asymmetric Slimflor beams (ASB) and a deep composite slab formed using SD 225 decking. A series of ten case studies of alternative servicing systems is presented, and the practical distribution of services is given for a typical building plan form.
