National road maintenance condition survey (NRMCS) 2006

Abstract

Reports on the surface condition of local and trunk roads in England and Wales. A variety of survey methods is used, including: visual surveys of defects, wet road skidding resistance is monitored using machines and a structural survey of trunk roads in Wales using deflectograph machines. Covers key results, visual survey, structural survey, local performance indicators, skidding resistance survey, trunk road surface condition survey in England and factors affecting road conditions.
