Abstract

Identifies the factors which influence the amount of energy used within laboratories. On the basis of this defines energy consumption benchmarks for generic laboratory ‘types’, against which the performance of any particular laboratory can be measured, and highlights the key areas where energy savings can be made within most laboratories. Provides case histories demonstrating energy efficiency good practice within existing government laboratories.
