Abstract
Provides basic qualitative and descriptive information characterising potential terrorist threats: the effects of terrorist-caused explosions or releases of chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) agents, and measures that can be taken to limit and mitigate their impacts on buildings and their occupants. Addresses damage mechanisms for various buildings and systems. Qualitative design guidance covers site and layout design, architectural attributes, structural design issues, the building envelope and mechanical and electrical systems. Considers multi-family residential buildings and cost issues.
