Abstract
Updates and replaces guidance given in DOE Circular 22/91 in England. Provides advice to local authorities about planning considerations relating to travelling showpeople who travel the country holding fairs. Examines the planning process including accommodation assessment, regional spatial strategy, development plan documents and community involvement, transitional arrangements, sites in rural areas and the countryside, major development projects, applications, sustainability, enforcement, appeals and human rights.
