Abstract
Specifies requirements and test methods for electrically powered wheelchairs and scooters with a maximum speed not exceeding 15km/hr intended to carry one person whose mass does not exceed 100kg. Also provides specifications for manual wheelchairs with add-on power kits used for propulsion, and for battery chargers for wheelchairs and scooters. Does not apply to wheelchairs intended for special purposes, manually propelled wheelchairs with electrically powered ancillary equipment, custom-made or specially designed/adapted wheelchairs, or powered office chairs.
