Abstract
Describes the performance of a propped contiguous bored pile wall constructed for an underpass on the A406 North Circular Road improvement scheme in Walthamstow, London. Details the instrumentation and process used to monitor movements, total lateral stresses and pore water pressures in the ground behind and in front of the wall as well as the performance of the structural members. Presents results for different stages. Relates soil properties and the construction sequence.
