Abstract
Reviews the £15.7 million Beddington Zero (carbon) emission development, a 1.65 hectare mixed-use site with eighty-two units. Discusses how energy efficiency was achieved in terms of heating (with reference to passive solar heat and natural ventilation), electricity, and through addressing occupants’ car usage. Water use as well as material sourcing and choice are also aspects of the project considered.
