Abstract
Covers legal obligations for fire safety in care homes and retrofitting of sprinkler systems, including CPVC pipework. Promotes the efficacy of automatic systems. Identifies causes of fires in care homes and explains how sprinklers work. Seeks to dispel the perception that sprinklers cause water damage to property. Discusses cost as well as quality and certification.
