Abstract

Comprises the Department for Transport's response to the Eddington Transport Study and the Stern Review of the Economics of Climate Change. It confirms the Government's commitment to a transport policy that delivers economic growth and lower carbon emissions. It summarises the policy and investment plans over the period to 2014, and describes how the Government will implement a new approach to strategic transport planning for the period 2014-19 and beyond.

Document History

To be read with Stern review: economics of climate change; Eddington transport study - main report: transport's role in sustaining the UK's productivity and competitiveness (both HMT, 2006); and NATA refresh - reviewing the new approach to appraisal (DFT, 2007).
