Abstract
Looks to provide good practice guidance on the town centre and retail planning techniques encouraged within SPP8, which sets out the Scottish planning policy framework for town centres and retailing. The SPP identifies a range of techniques that can be used to support planning for town centres and retailing and indicates that updated guidance for these techniques will be published in the form of a Planning Advice Note (PAN). This research sets out to provide a basis for the preparation of the PAN.
