Abstract
Acquired by the OPW in 1996, the development of an extension was required for more staff accommodation. The initial project consisted of a two-storey extension and renovation works with an archaeological investigation. This provided evidence that Custom House is sited on the remains of the medieval hall of Richard de Burgo.
