Abstract

Presents a summary of the results from the 2007 Scottish vacant and derelict land survey (SVDLS). It presents statistics on ownership, contamination, previous uses, preferred or intended uses, location and reuse of derelict and urban vacant land, as well as on the period of time since which land has lain vacant or derelict and new derelict or urban vacant sites. The survey covers vacant land in, or close to, urban areas and derelict land throughout Scotland, subject to agreed exclusions and to interpretation by those carrying out the survey.

Supersedes Scottish vacant and derelict land survey 2006 (Scottish Executive, 2007). Superseded by Scottish vacant and derelict land survey 2008 (Scottish Government, 2009).
