Abstract
Describes the conjoining of three separate arts faculties to form a cohesive, autonomous whole, and how planning sought to resolve the fragmented boundary condition. The building accommodates lecture theatres, language laboratories, sound recording studios, postgraduate study areas, computer laboratories, offices and a multi-purpose theatre. The theatre’s exterior affords protection against weather through a canopy and brise soleil. Details bio-climatic design considerations and materials used to counter weather conditions.
