Abstract
Provides advice on pollution prevention planning if works near, in or over water are planned. Discusses how to avoid pollution of the water environment, waste management and incident response. This new version (Oct 2007) incorporates PPG23: Maintenance of Structures Over Water.

Withdrawn in England December in 2015. Replaces PPG 5: Works in, near or liable to affect watercourses (EA, 2000) and PPG 23: Maintenance of structures over water (EA, 1999). Superseded by GPP 5: Works and maintenance in or near water (NetRegs, 2017).
