Abstract
Reflects on the history and design of the Ulster Museum extension of 1963-71, a large multi-level building in reinforced concrete standing in a parkland setting, added onto an existing three-storey building of Portland stone in a classical style and dating from the 1920s. Considers the impact of a newly-proposed extension.
