Abstract

Some benefits of plastering mixes incorporating lime and cement include: easy application, quick drying out, durability and minimising the risk of efflorescence, condensation and pattern staining. Plastering mixes such as cement:sand and cement:lime:sand are particularly suitable for damp conditions, where other systems may fail. Looks at the composition and manufacture, properties, fire protection, durability, application, undercoats based on gypsum, plaster strength, recommended thicknesses and maintenance.
