Abstract

Describes the method of operation of a tester developed at the Road Research Laboratory to provide highway engineers with a routine method of checking the resistance of wet roads to skidding. The apparatus measures the frictional resistance between a rubber slider and the road surface. Relates its use, interpretation of results and record data, as well as maintenance and transportation.
