Abstract
Introduces the proposed changes to Section 5: Noise, which will be extended to include residential buildings separating walls and separating floors, a new standard on noise reduction within buildings, increasing sound insulation performance of separating walls and separating floors, robust post-completion testing, new guidance on workmanship and the effect on performance of separating floors and separating walls and guidance for work to existing buildings.

This consultation comprises: a covering letter, this Annex A - summary of proposed changes, Annex B - proposed revisions to domestic and non-domestic guidance documents, Annex C - guidance on laminate/hard floor coverings, Annex D - example constructions and generic internal wall and floor details and Annex F - an intermediate regulatory impact assessment.
