Abstract
Provides guidance for conducting traffic surveys by roadside interviews, covering standard practice, procedures, site layouts and interview techniques.

DMRB 5.1. Supersedes advice given in Part 2 of Urban Traffic Engineering Techniques and also Chapter 7 of the Traffic Signs Manual. Clauses 6.1, 6.2, 6.5 and figures 1 to 5 are superseded by Chapter 8 of Traffic Signs Manual. Superseded by TA 11/09. Design manual for roads and bridges (DMRB). May 2008 correction replaces pages 6/5 and 6/6. Not formally implemented by the NRA for use in Ireland, but should be considered as background reading.
