Abstract
Seeks views on establishing and consolidating in one place regulations prescribing offences and penalties for infringement of EC Regulation 842/2006 on certain fluorinated greenhouse gases (F gases). The new regulations will set out requirements for leakage checking, reporting, labelling and enforcement. The ultimate aim is to meet the principles of the Kyoto Protocol on combating climate change, through containment, prevention and reducing emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases. Industries targeted include fire protection, mobile air-conditioning (MAC), high voltage (HV) switchgear, solvent cleaning and stationary refrigeration and air-conditioning (SRAC).
Document History
A consultation document issued jointly by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, the National Assembly for Wales and the Scottish Executive. This consultation package comprises this consultation document, an impact assessment and draft regulations. Consultation closed on 3 October 2008. No longer applicable as legislation now in effect - SI 2009/261.
