Abstract

Looks at the contributions trees and woodlands can make to improving the quality of life for the people of Wales. It is split into 5 main areas: Welsh woodlands - how woodlands will be managed in Wales in future; responding to climate change - how woodlands need to adapt to climate change as well as how they can help reduce the effects of climate change in the wider environment; woodlands for people - encouraging the use of woodlands by local communities, for learning, tourism and recreation and creating local jobs; a competitive and integrated forest sector - making the best uses of Welsh wood and developing the timber industry in Wales; and environmental quality - protecting and enhancing the biodiversity, cultural heritage and landscape qualities of Welsh trees and woodlands.
