Abstract
Provides best practice guidance on the planning and design of maternity care facilities. Covers facilities for antenatal outpatient care, early pregnancy assessment, foetal and maternal pregnancy assessment, birthing facilities and in-patient areas, including the requirements for the routine care of neonates. Recognises that services and facilities will be different in midwife-led units and consultant-led units, and women’s psychosocial needs. Includes engineering guidance and cost information.
