Abstract
Describes a range of solutions to the problems of mounting of existing temporary traffic management signs on concrete safety barriers. Discusses methodology and current practice. Reviews draft standard BS 8422. Considers the modification of current frame design, retrofit mountings, specification of a standard sign mounting socket, steel eyelet fittings on top of a concrete safety barrier, and provision of electrical power sockets for VCB mounted signs. Compares temporary and fixed sign mounting strategies.
