Abstract
Aims to give guidance to those with responsibility for acquiring maintenance services from an external source through outlining the statutory requirements of the building owner or occupier, contract requirements and development (including selection of bidders), what should be included in a specification, the process of tendering, and the importance of monitoring and control through service reports, work orders and inspections. Lists statutory plant inspections, statutory testing frequency check sheets, and documentation to be held by the building owner or occupier.
