Abstract
Points the way for local authorities in England to have regard to in carrying out their local air quality management (often shortened to LAQM) duties under Part IV of the Environment Act 1995. Intended to enable local authorities to improve on the service they already provide in tackling poor air quality. Part 1 provides an overview of the local air quality management system and the various considerations that local authorities should bear in mind. Part 2 points the reader towards other sources of advice, as well as Practice Guidance on some of the more effective and ambitious measures that local authorities can pursue.
