Abstract
Provides basic input parameters for use particularly in computer programs following the plastic zone theory. Intends to show the possibility and the range of application of different simplifications in the ultimate limit state analysis of sway frames. Deals mainly with the static analysis of frames. Covers first and second order plastic hinge theories, as well as first and second order elastic theories and the Merchant-Rankine approach.
