Abstract

Intended to be used where the employer wishes to appoint a contractor for a lump sum on the basis that the contractor will be responsible for the completion of the design and the production of all further design and/or production information that he requires.

Document History

The current version of this document is Design and Build Contract guide 2024. JCT 2005 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2011. Updates and replaces the 2005 edition. The principal revision is the incorporation of sustainability provisions, following JCT’s consultation, and provisions building on OGC’s Achieving Excellence criteria. Aspects of the payment provisions have been modified while awaiting the outcome of the proposed payment legislation. Includes Terrorism Cover Update, issued December 2009.
