Abstract

Appropriate for use where the main contract is the Standard Building Contract (with quantities, without quantities or with approximate quantities), and where the contractor is to design discrete part(s) of the main contract works, and the sub-contractor is to design all or part of the sub-contract works.

Document History

JCT 2005 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2011. Replaces JCT 98 agreement with sectional completion and JCT 98 agreement with designed portion. Updates the 2007 revision. The principal revision is the incorporation of sustainability provisions, following JCT’s consultation, and provisions building on OGC’s Achieving Excellence criteria. Aspects of the payment provisions have been modified while awaiting the outcome of the proposed payment legislation.
