Abstract

DCLG has now analysed the responses from the 2008 consultation on changes to Approved documents L relating to energy efficiency requirements in common building situations and the measurement of the thermal performance of multi-foil insulation. The Department is maintaining its previous view that the most suitable method for measurement is the "hot-box" test. BCBs and Approved Inspectors will still be able to make their own judgements about compliance with regulations based on their assessment of claims by manufacturers using comparative ("in situ") testing.
