Abstract
Explores how steel construction in the residential sector can meet and pass the energy and CO2 emission targets set by the Code for sustainable homes (CSH) levels 3 and 4. Provides examples of SAP (standard assessment procedure) measurements for typical steel residential buildings. Discusses targets, achieving targets, design for energy efficiency, looking at u-values and external walls, air tightness, control of thermal bridging and use and responsible sourcing of materials.
