Abstract
Seeks views on the draft National Policy Statement for ports. Explains the context of the NPS and sets out the key policies.

Consultation closed on 15 February 2010. To be read with Draft national policy statement for ports; Ports: national policy statement for England and Wales - appraisal of sustainability (AoS) report; Habitats and wild birds directives and regulations: assessment of ports NPS (incorporating appropriate assessment); and Impact assessment for the implementation of a national policy statement for ports (all DFT, 2009). A suite of NPSs covering energy have also been released by the DECC (2009).
