Abstract
Aims to aid the process of masterplanning, covering all the stages of creating and adopting a masterplan - preparation, design and implementation. It has been developed as a practical tool to be used on real projects on a day-to-day basis, from the detail of OJEU procurement requirements through to the rigours of community consultation.

Now defunct, the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment was the government's advisor on architecture, urban design and public space. They replaced the Royal Fine Art Commission in 1999. In April 2011, the Design Council and CABE joined to become one organisation.
