Abstract
Develops the evidence base on the planning control system, comprising an independent empirical study of sites approved for major residential housing development during 2005 and 2006. Looks at the time taken for sites to gain planning permission and constructs a sample large enough to enable a statistical analysis of the factors that might explain the differences in time taken.
