Abstract
Collects information about people's housing circumstances and the condition and energy efficiency of housing in England. Covers trends in tenure, household type, economic status, buying expectations of renters, overcrowding, underoccupation, recent movers and satisfaction with the home and local area.

Superseded by English housing survey - headline report 2009-10 (DCLG, 2011). Supersedes Survey of English housing preliminary report: 2007-08 (DCLG, 2009). In April 2008 the English House Condition Survey was integrated with the Survey of English Housing to form the English Housing Survey (EHS).
