Abstract
Addresses the treatment of rising damp in masonry walls of existing buildings. Recommends the procedures for diagnosing rising damp and lays down the standards of workmanship required for installing remedial damp-proof courses and for finishing work. Identifies other causes of dampness and stresses the importance of eliminating these. Covers health and safety, training, standards and codes, inspections, reports, problem-solving and quality assurance.
