Abstract
Deals with the following requirement; L2B Conservation of fuel and power in existing buildings other than dwellings.
Document History
Comes into effect 1 October 2010 and will replace the 2006 edition (ODPM). Changes introduced by this 2010 edition include: legal requirements - tightening up of energy efficiency provision exemption for extensions, addition to list of work in schedule 2B to include thermal insulation in a roof/loft space in certain circumstances. Technical guidance changes include strengthening of energy efficiency standards relating to thermal elements, controlled fittings and controlled services in existing buildings. Consideration is given to historic and traditional buildings which may have exemption from energy efficiency requirements or if special considerations apply. Guidance for conservatory or porch extensions that do not have exemptions from energy efficiency requirements. Guidance has been expanded for renovation of thermal element through provision of a new layer or replacement of existing layer and guidance for swimming pool basins in existing buildings.
