Abstract

Gives guidance to local authorities and others for installing or repairing chimneys in thatched properties and includes re-thatching a roof that abuts a chimney. Describes the problem and source of thatch fires and discusses measures to comply with Approved Document J of the Building Regulations. Covers small single brick chimneys, larger chimneys and looks at compliance when traditional methods are not permitted.
