Abstract
Looks at the investigation of sites for to determine their suitability for the construction of civil engineering and building works. Focuses on acquiring knowledge of the characteristics of a site that affect the design and construction of such work. This may include ground investigation, field investigation, field and laboratory tests, description of soils and rocks and the security of neighbouring land and property.
