Abstract
Deals with the following requirement; F1 means of ventilation. Covers principles of ventilation and control, guidance for ventilation for dwellings and guidance for ventilation for non-dwellings and ventilation for existing buildings.
Document History
Came into effect 1 October 2010 and replaces the 2006 edition (ODPM). Changes introduced by this 2010 edition include: legal requirements for commissioning of fixed mechanical ventilation systems, measurement of air flow rates on site and includes intermittently used extract fans and cooker hoods as well as systems running continuously, information provision relating to ventilation systems to ensure adequate air flow. Technical guidance changes include increases in ventilation provision for dwellings with designed air permeability, an increase in diameter for passive stack ventilators and clarification for use in wet rooms, clarification for ventilation in the refurbishment of kitchen or bathroom in existing dwellings and introduces the new Domestic ventilation compliance guide (DCLG, 2010). Includes corrections. Please note that an Amendment Slip is attached within this PDF Approved Document. This outlines the regulation numbering changes between the 2000 Regulations and the 2010 Regulations.
