Abstract
Sets out the strategic need and justification for a new waste water infrastructure, to prevent environmental damage and poor water quality.

Superseded by National policy statement for waste water - a framework document for planning decisions on nationally significant waste water infrastructure (HM Government, 2012). Consultation closed on 22 February 2011.
