Abstract
Relates the risk of fire to heritage buildings. Presents two case studies whose means of fire protection have included the installation of sprinkler systems: the National Library of Scotland and Duff House. Introduces standards for installation and stresses the type of system suited to heritage buildings. Advises on system design and installation.
