Abstract

Explains how to use DMRB volume 11 for environmental assessments of Nationally Significance Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) in the context of the Planning act 2008.

Superseded by LA 101 Introduction to environmental assessment (HE, 2019), LA 102 Screening projects for environmental impact assessment (HE, 2019), LA 103 Scoping projects for environmental assessment (HE, 2019), and LA 104 Environmental assessment and monitoring (HE, 2019). Interim Advice Notes (IANs) are issued by the Highways Agency from time to time. They contain specific Guidance, which shall only be used in connection with works on motorways and trunk roads in England, subject to any specific implementation instructions contained within an IAN. Whilst IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) for the above works, and may incorporate amendments or additions to documents in these manuals, they are not part of the DMRB or MCHW. To be read in conjunction with HA IAN 134/10. Not adopted in full for use in Wales.
