Abstract
Seeks views on the proposals to amend the Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations 2000 to introduce new standard rules, and make a number of additional amendments to the current provisions. The proposal to introduce standard rules is designed to achieve the following: to allow the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) to take a more risk-based and proportionate regulatory approach, consistent with the need to protect human health and the environment; and to reduce the regulatory impact on businesses operating lower risk PPC activities by streamlining and simplifying administrative and compliance requirements. Includes covering letter.
