Abstract
Identifies substances likely to adversely affect the response of the cell. Relates risks where carbon monoxide detectors can provide a means of early fire detection, as well as where detectors are not recommended as the prime means of detection. Discusses suitable siting of detectors and lifetime factors such as maintenance.
