Determinations Decision Letters SB/007/001/004 B1 (means of warning and escape) in Part B (Fire safety) of Schedule 1 to the Building Regulations 2000 (as amended), in respect of a loft conversion

Abstract

Decision letter detailing the determination of compliance with requirement B1. Relates to building work comprising conversion of the loft area of a two storey, mid terrace two bedroomed house, to form an additional en-suite bedroom and other ancillary work. A new stair from the first floor landing will provide access to the open loft area, the stair enclosure will be formed by fire resisting doors and partitions at ground and first floor levels and each bedroom window will be an escape/egress window. Will also include interlinked smoke and heat detection at each level of the house.
