Presents the findings of research that examined the usefulness and preparation of Joint Housing Land Availability Studies, setting out recommendations for the future operation of the Joint Housing Land Availability Study process. The objectives of the research were: to assess whether the Joint Housing Land Availability Studies provide useful information for local authorities, Government and business; to assess whether the process of preparing the Studies remains appropriate and to identify opportunities to streamline it and improve its usefulness; to review how the Studies are co-ordinated and tested and make proposals for a robust mechanism for doing this in future; and to assess whether the content and format of the Study reports remains appropriate and, if not, to identify an alternative structure for future reports.
