Abstract
Provides advice on the planning process for dealing with proposals for nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs). Sets out advice on how a person who ('the developer') proposes to make a Development Consent Order application under the Act may apply for authorisation to serve a written notice ('a land interests notice') which requires the recipient to provide information to the developer about interests in land under s.52 of the Planning Act 2008.

Superseded by version 4, October 2013. Supersedes version 2 (IPC, 2011). Under the Localism Act 2011, the IPC is abolished with its work being transferred to the National Infrastructure Directorate, created within the Planning Inspectorate. Consequently, all IPC advice notes have been republished by the Planning Inspectorate.
