Abstract
Designed to improve the quality and accuracy of energy performance certificates (EPC) and presents the SAP conventions used, covering: general, dimensions, openings, ventilation, u-values and heat loss, space heating, DHW heating, renewables and thermal mass parameter (TMP) for whole dwelling. Includes an appendix covering thermal bridges.

Version 4.0 12 September 2012 issue, effective from 1 October 2012. SAP 2009 was introduced in October 2010, used for compliance with building regulations in England and Wales (Part L) and in Scotland (Section 6) and for the generation of EPCs for new dwellings. SAP 2005 will continue to be used for RdSAP assessments which will be revised following the implementation of SAP 2009. First published by the DOE (now the DECC) and BRE in 1993, and amended in 1994. The first edition was superseded by the 1998, and then 2001 editions. SAP 2009 - Version 9.90 dated March 2010. Rev September 2010. Published on behalf of DECC by BRE.
