Abstract
Focuses on how Regional Spatial Strategies (RSS) and their supporting documents have addressed the social, economic and environmental challenges and opportunities that are presented in many of England's rural areas. The study is primarily concerned with the processes of RSS preparation and also the issues facing rural areas that regional planning bodies (RPBs) and their partners believe can and should be addressed through regional planning policies.
